Impactful visit to Zambia

In an important step towards strengthening international partnerships and promoting sustainable development, Werner Wallner, CEO of the Hilti Foundation, joined Liechtenstein's Foreign Minister Dominique Hasler and Andreas Sicks, CEO of the Liechtenstein Development Service (LED), on a visit to Zambia. The visit, which was featured prominently in the Liechtensteiner Vaterland, underscored the joint efforts to improve rural health care and vocational training in Zambia.

The delegation visited various LED-supported projects, including the expansion of the nurse training program, which now includes 10 colleges and 50 accredited hospitals. This initiative aims to address the urgent need for improved healthcare in Zambia in line with WHO standards.

The visit provided an opportunity to engage with local communities and witness the transformative impact of these initiatives. One notable project is the vocational education program for nurses and midwives, which is currently in its national scale-up phase.

This visit is a testament to our ongoing commitment to make a positive difference in the lives of many and to promote sustainable development across regions.
