Economic Empowerment
Building Financial Resilience
Everyone has the right to a self-determined life
Our Economic Empowerment focus area supports projects that ensure people have the opportunity to develop skills, find sustainable jobs, start businesses and earn a living.
Economic Empowerment
Ten percent of the world’s population live in extreme poverty. Struggling to survive every day, these people live on a daily income of less than $2.15. This severe lack of resources impacts their ability to access basic necessities such as food, clean water and shelter. Poverty also limits access to education and healthcare, perpetuating a cycle of hardship and inequality.
We believe everyone should have the opportunity to develop skills, find sustainable jobs, start businesses and earn a living.
Through our initiatives, we aim to give people in East Africa a chance to escape poverty and become part of an emerging middle class. With a sustainable and growing income, families can afford a better standard of living and contribute to a socially inclusive and economically prosperous local community.

Key Initiatives
PropelA
The “PropelA” initiative addresses the challenge of significant unemployment due to a lack of professional vocational education in East African countries. Through our program we offer dual vocational education to the disadvantaged urban youth in Kenya, which enables them to find sustainable jobs and create a prospective for their lives.
Entrepreneur Training
Our Basic Entrepreneur Training (BET) and Scale-Up program, offers professional training and coaching for people in rural Eastern Africa to build sustainable farming businesses. The program teaches essential skills for small enterprises and organizes farms into larger cooperatives for increased economic benefits.
