Engaged Beyond Business
Engaging Employees, Impacting Lives
Everyone has the power to create change
At Hilti and the Hilti Foundation, we believe in the transformative power of corporate volunteering. Through our Engaged Beyond Business program, we connect corporate responsibility with real-world impact, empowering Hilti employees to make a difference beyond their professional roles.
Engaged Beyond Business
Engaged Beyond Business (EBB) is Hilti’s corporate volunteering program, developed in collaboration with the Hilti Foundation. It empowers Hilti employees to participate in meaningful community projects worldwide, addressing critical social challenges and fostering sustainable development.
The program represents Hilti’s commitment to extend corporate responsibility beyond business by providing employees with structured volunteer opportunities that enable them to make a tangible, positive impact.
EBB connects team members with diverse projects ranging from disaster relief and sustainable construction efforts to educational mentorships and community support initiatives. These targeted opportunities allow employees to use their skills and expertise to contribute to meaningful causes, fostering both personal growth and social development.
While many initiatives are employee-led, the Hilti Foundation supports selected projects, highlighting the commitment of Hilti's employees to driving positive change around the world.

Key Initiatives
Building Homes
The Houses for Bosnia-Herzegovina and Romania Programs enable Hilti employees to volunteer alongside local NGOs to build homes for families facing precarious living conditions. Over a five-day on-site assignment, volunteers assist in various construction tasks to build homes that will improve the quality of life for the families. These programs, fully supported by the Hilti Foundation, not only provide employees with hands-on skills but also foster meaningful community impact and development in these regions.
Leading with Impact
The Capability Program by Bookbridge is a leadership and entrepreneurial training initiative for Hilti employees. It combines in-person and online courses to develop skills in creating and managing social enterprises that address the needs of disadvantaged communities. Participants engage in hands-on learning, including a trip to the global South, where they collaborate with locals to launch sustainable enterprises. The program, fully supported by Hilti, offers academic recognition and fosters professional and personal growth.
Microfinance & Donations
These initiatives aim to foster sustainable development and education globally. Programs like Kiva provide microloans to individuals in need, enabling them to start businesses and improve their livelihoods. Projects such as the House of Good Tones in Bosnia, the Vocational Training Center in Monaragala, and the One World Foundation in Sri Lanka focus on offering education and vocational skills to disadvantaged communities. These efforts are powered by donations from Hilti employees, promoting long-term social and economic growth.
“I love building houses. It's a unique experience for all of us and I get to meet so many new Hilti people.”
