Classical Music for the whole Family

Inspiring a love for classical music among both young and old—this is the goal of the Sinfonieorchester Liechtenstein (SOL), with support from the Hilti Foundation. As part of SOL's ongoing development, the new concert format "HOI Klassik" was introduced during its 35th season, offering an experience for the entire family.

Since its founding in 1988, originally known as the "Liechtenstein Chamber Orchestra," the Sinfonieorchester Liechtenstein has played a significant role in the cultural life of the country. With a repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary music, the approximately 120 professional musicians are now performing in their 35th season. The theme of "Connection" represents the orchestra's mission to blend progress with tradition, grand symphonic music with intimate chamber music, emerging talents with today's international stars, and to strengthen the bond between the orchestra and its audience.

With the support of the Hilti Foundation, SOL has worked intensively to bring classical music to a broader audience. In 2023, the new format "HOI Klassik," a concert designed for the entire family, was created. Conductor Kevin Griffiths curated an impressive program featuring themes from the captivating world of film music, delighting both young and old. Around 750 children attended the morning concert for school classes, enjoying the orchestra's sounds, before the orchestra transported families into the world of film music during the evening performance.

Conductor Kevin Griffiths handed the baton to the young audience.

The Hilti Foundation is pleased to support SOL in its development, making classical music accessible to everyone.
