Familienimpulse Mobil: Award-Winning Prevention Project

The Vorarlberg Children's Village offers "Familienimpulse MOBIL," a program designed to enhance the educational and health competencies of socioeconomically disadvantaged families. The Hilti Foundation supports this prevention project, which has been recognized with the Austrian Integration Award.

Familienimpulse Mobil

The pilot project "Familienimpulse MOBIL" by the Vorarlberg Children's Village provides preventive, outreach family support in Vorarlberg. The initiative aims to reach families who are often overlooked by existing local services, particularly socioeconomically disadvantaged individuals with and without migrant backgrounds. The project team travels to selected social housing neighborhoods in Vorarlberg with a bus equipped with a mobile café, bringing advice on health, leisure, and education directly into the families' living environments. Additionally, the café serves as a meeting point for residents, fostering connections within the community.

The Familienimpulse Mobil project also helps neighbors connect with each other.

Providing children with opportunities

Enhanced preventive measures aim to sustainably strengthen burdened families and create equal opportunities for children. Targeted advice on education, health, and leisure helps parents integrate and support their children to the fullest. For the children, this means the chance to develop their interests and talents freely and lead a self-determined life.

Vorarlberg Children's Village and Family Impulses

The Vorarlberg Children's Village is the largest child protection organization in Vorarlberg, offering residential, outpatient, and mobile services. The "Family Impulses" department focuses on prevention, providing advice and support to families in their daily lives. The measures range from lectures to mobile family counseling to direct support in childcare. For example, families without a network of relatives and friends are connected with volunteers by the project team and receive professional support. All services offered by the Family Impulses department are voluntary, accessible to all families, free of charge, and partially funded by the state of Vorarlberg. The mobile family counseling service "Familienimpulse MOBIL" is funded by the Gesundheitsförderungsfonds Vorarlberg, the Fonds Gesundes Österreich, and the Hilti Foundation.
