Houses for Romania

Could you imagine building a house in only one week?

That’s what Hilti team members are doing as part of the corporate volunteering program Engaged Beyond Business (EBB). The international house-building projects within EBB are driven by the Hilti Foundation. One of them, “Houses for Romania”, is realized in cooperation with the partner organization Habitat for Humanity Romania. In 2022, teams from the Market Organizations France and Romania have already participated in this program. Each team worked intensively for five days on site, building two duplex houses for four families in total.

"One team, one week, one house. Under this motto, we started building houses in 2014, together with our partner in Bosnia. After a severe earthquake in Croatia a few years ago, we started building and financing houses there. And meanwhile, we are partnering with Habitat for Humanity on a similar project, building duplex houses in Romania,” explains Beatrix Bättig Staud, who is responsible for the “Building Houses” projects at the Hilti Foundation.
